Achayan

In the early 2009, he released his first single under the name D-Brisk. Later, he met a few people and started a crew called X Killers, which later evolved into Basic Killers. They worked together, eventually he noticed that in a mixed culture, everyone proudly celebrated their own language. He felt the need to stick more to his roots. He found that he could do better in his mother tongue and started putting more focus on rapping in Malayalam. He then started listening to artists like 50 Cent and Eminem, which laid the foundation for his rapping style and started releasing his singles in Malayalam. In 2013 he released ‘Evidunnu Verunnedi', which barely crossed a thousand views, but that was enough to catch the attention of NRIs and people around India, giving him early fans. Slowly, local platforms like Pink Lungi started picking him up. His breakout track ‘Chathiyan Pacha’ changed everything in Kerala’s underground scene, proving Malayalam rap could hold its own. The way Achayan writes lyrics, he always has a reason for a song, like a story, a reflection of his emotions, thoughts, and morals.

Over time, Achayan became more than a name, it became his identity. He kept writing, kept releasing songs all while living a regular life, working as a safety officer, but always sticking to his craft and culture. He began by making songs with low-quality setups and has since worked on refining his sound. Now based in Canada, Achayan is far from done. He’s experimenting beyond rap, diving into rock, guitars, and melody-driven music, but his spirit forever stays rooted in hip-hop and rap. His upcoming album ‘Evide’ reflects this evolution, a journey of sounds, emotions, and stories. He started his journey as a passion to becoming a name of his own in the scene. Achayan shares that, by staying real, staying rooted, and always letting the music speak first is helping him stay inspired and keep writing more music.
